COVID-19 Mutual Aid

The Windsor IWW is committed to relieving working-class hardships during the COVID-19 crisis through our Community Mutual Aid Network. If you are ready and able, regardless of membership status with the IWW, we invite and encourage you to get involved in providing essential mutual aid to our community.

If you would like to get involved, or if you require assistance for any reason, please take a moment to fill out the following form, or contact us directly, so that we can match those in need with those most capable of providing relief. We are making every effort to respond to all messages within 24 hours, often much sooner. Please don’t hesitate to contact us for any reason – an injury to one is an injury to all!

NOTE: This initiative cannot respond to emergency situations. If you have an emergency, please call 911.

The Community Mutual Aid Network is an effort started by the Windsor IWW branch in order to help those in need within our community. We set up a framework to connect volunteers with people seeking aid. Our coordinators reach out to someone who asks for help through the form and connect them to a volunteer close by. Our volunteers offer grocery delivery, help navigating EI/CERB applications and even just a conversation for those who feel alone during this time.

The principles of mutual aid are closely tied to the values of our union. If we are to truly build a new society within the shell of the old, we must be able and willing to take care of each other and our communities.
